About Cairns Arborist Solutions
We're a local tree service built around one idea: tree work in Cairns should be done by people who actually understand Cairns trees, Cairns weather and Cairns blocks — not a generic crew applying a southern playbook to a tropical city.

Cairns is a different kind of tree town
Drive through Edge Hill or Whitfield and you'll see canopies that simply don't exist further south — mango trees the size of houses, poincianas that flame orange over entire streets in December, African tulips and rain trees towering over fence lines, and palms lining every northern beach from Machans to Palm Cove.
That beauty comes with a catch. Our build-up humidity and long wet season push growth hard. Soils stay saturated for months, which loosens root plates. And from November to April, cyclone and storm season can expose every weak fork and dead limb in a single afternoon. A tree that's fine in winter can become a genuine hazard by January.
Working here means reading all of that before you ever start a cut — and that local read is the heart of what we do.
How we work
We come and look first. Every quote starts with a free onsite visit. We assess the species, the lean, the root condition, the access and what's underneath — your roof, the neighbour's fence, the powerlines — then give you a clear written price. No sight-unseen phone estimates that change on the day.
We keep it straightforward. There's no contact form to wrestle and no email chain. You call, we talk through the job, we arrange a time. That's it.
We're honest about what's needed. Sometimes a tree can be saved with a sensible prune. Sometimes it really does need to come out. We'll tell you which — and we'll tell you when a job touches on Cairns Regional Council vegetation rules so you're not caught out (more on that below).
A note on council rules
Many trees on private land in the Cairns region are protected, and some properties sit under planning overlays that affect what you can remove or prune. In a lot of cases a development approval is required before significant vegetation is cleared. There's a narrow exemption where a tree poses an imminent risk of serious injury or damage — but that needs to be assessed properly by a suitably qualified person.
We're not here to give you legal advice, but we will flag when a job looks like it needs council approval, and we work in line with the way Council expects qualified arborists to operate. If you're unsure about your property, the Cairns Regional Council vegetation pages are the place to confirm.
What we'll never do
- Quote you a firm price for a tree we haven't seen.
- Pressure you into removing a healthy tree that just needs a prune.
- Leave a mess of green waste and a tripping-hazard stump behind.
- Make you chase us — when you call, you reach us.
The areas we cover
We work right across the Cairns region: the inner suburbs, the northern beaches, the Redlynch and Brinsmead valleys, and the southern corridor down to Gordonvale. See the full list on our Tree Services Cairns hub, or jump straight to popular areas like Trinity Beach, Edmonton or Redlynch.
